Baby Dana version 2.0

So, we are delighted to finally announce that Kate is going to be a big sister!  I am due at the end of October but am likely to deliver earlier than that based on how my first pregnancy progressed.  We are hoping to keep Baby Dana version 2.0 incubating for at least 35 weeks if not more and can use all of our loved ones' positive thoughts and prayers that it will happen.  In the meantime, I am overcoming some serious fatigue, mild but persistent nausea and headaches and hoping they lessen or abate in another week or so.

Kate does not quite understand what all of this means or what being a big sister entails, except that her mama is not as eager to engage in as much dance and physical play.  However, she was intrigued by the nurse's use of the doppler to find a heartbeat and the ba-bum-ba-bum galloping of the fetus's heartbeat.  She wants me to repeat this story multiple times with sound effects in response to her question of why I was at the doctor's office, and she refers to it as the "heartbeeps."  A play doctor's kit with a working stethoscope is now in order, since she was fascinated that we all have "heartbeeps."
